This 1/6 scale Saber from Fate/Stay Night is one of the newest release from Volks and is a superb, yet simple kit. This project was another commission, and features a custom display base that was requested by the owner. The idea was to have Saber walking down a stone path with large flat slates. The base is relatively simple, made from a sheet of pla-plate, and carved with a round dremel bit to make the stone sections. The figure is painted with Mr.Color and the dress is coated with a mix of future floor acrylic and blue pearl-ex pearl pigments to give the dress a satin like feel. Total build time is probably about 2-3 weeks start to finish, although there was a bit of downtime due to our vacation to Japan. Completed on 11/7/09.
