G-System 1/72 Nu Gundam Evolve v5
Back again with another project that’s on the workbench. While in between working on the Gp03, I’ve been working on getting this painted up and finished. Compared to the Sazabi, this kit is relatively simple and painting and prep has been a breeze. The only downside is the kit was missing one of the round elbow joint covers so I had to make one myself. I found a plastic electrical connector that was the same size as the original piece, cut it down, and reshaped the final bit with the epoxy putty. It’s not 100% perfect, but once its on the arm it looks like it should be there and is hard to tell.
Other then that pretty straight forward so far. I mixed up some custom colors again for this build, using Mr. Color lacquers. The main white tone has a tiny hint of purple to it, while the black parts are actually a very dark blue. Usual metallic parts abound, this time I wanted to do something a bit different and made my own clear purple. I used Mr. Color gloss clear base, thinned, and then added some violet Higgins drawing ink to the mix until I had the shade I wanted. It sprayed fantastically, and dried to a nice even tone in about 5 – 10 minutes.
